I have over 20 years experience in the telecoms industry with large corporate organisations such as Vodafone as well as several small start up companies in the mobile, VoIP and call routing sectors.
I remember sitting in Dusseldorf Airport one Friday evening waiting for a plane after a tedious corporate meeting and reflecting on the fact that I’d really had enough of the corporate world.
My specialism at Vodafone had been on how telecoms can change the way people work and at the time there were some good call handling systems for corporate customers but very little was available for small businesses. I was trying to describe how call handling could help a small business to a non-technical friend when he said “oh, it would create a sort of virtual office”. That was it. I realised that most small business owners did n’t want to know the complexity of how their calls were routed, they just wanted a service that makes their customers believe they have an efficient and professional office.
Since then we have spoken with several small business owners nearly every day and through these conversations we have built up a wealth of understanding and knowledge of what these business owners need to help them grow.
We have recently passed the tenth anniversary of the company and believe we reached this milestone by being personable, approachable and using some fairly advanced systems in a way that is transparent to our customers.
In the early days when we had twenty customers we knew them all by name and provided a very personal service. We have grown a fair bit since then, but we will still leave you with the impression that we only have 20 customers.
