If you are a business with an established telephone number that is fine, simply divert your telephone to us when you want your calls answered by our receptionist team. The instructions below work for the major UK telecoms providers. We can help you with setting up a divert on your telephone if required.
We will allocate you a unique telephone number on our receptionist system.There are three types of call diverts that are available:
Divert All Calls – dial *21*your allocated receptionist telephone number #
This will divert all your calls directly to our virtual receptionist service without your telephone ringing. Importantly, your callers will not hear any “your call is being diverted” type of messages so will believe the call has been answered by a receptionist in your office.

Divert when engaged- dial *67* your allocated receptionist telephone number #
This will divert your calls when you are on the telephone rather than the caller hearing the engaged tone or going to BT Call Minder.
Divert on not answered- dial *61* your allocated receptionist telephone number #
This will ring your telephone for 15 seconds before diverting. Unfortunately BT play an announcement to the caller before transferring the call to the virtual receptionist team which shatters the illusion that our receptionist is in your office. You will need to ask BT to remove this announcement.
Not sure if you have the divert service on your line?There is a simple way to check if you have a diversion service on your telephone line.To do the test:
dial *21*your mobile number #
if you hear “telephone number 07xxxxxx will receive your incoming calls” then the service is available.To cancel the diversion dial #21# and you will hear “diversion service cancelled”.
If you hear a message saying “The service requested is not available” then you do not have the service.You will need to contact your line provider and ask them to add the Call Diversion service.They make a small monthly charge for this service.
